The Challenge Starts on Monday!

As we get ready to kick off our first SNAP Challenge, I wanted to post a few questions for you to think about while you do your shopping and menu planning this weekend.  I will be posting some responses on Monday.  

Pre-Challenge Question:

• What is your normal weekly food budget?
• How high of a priority is nutrition to you and your family?       
•  How often do you eat out?  
•  What do you think will be the hardest part of this challenge?

I also wanted to share an article from this week's New York Times. The people in this story are the reason we are doing this.   While many articles are quick to blame one party or another, the Food Bank strongly feels that hunger isn't a political issue. For us, it is about the 1 in 10 Larimer County residents who line up at one of our two Food Share pantries to receive assistance.  Regardless of your political views, I think we can all agree that hunger in this country and hunger in Larimer County is unacceptable.
